Painted in 2008, 17 by 26 inches. I painted this street scene with the intention of connecting my affinity for urban landscape with a more accesible, romantic mood and atmosphere. This is the second painting I made after changing my canvas ground to an oil-based primer instead of an acrylic one. The change in surface is so dramatic that I experienced quite a bit of clumsiness in my first painting (Independence Park) but I painted this one with more facility and confidence, which isn't to say I don't still have a good deal of learning to do. I expect my next paintings to be better yet. The subject may prove less popular than my painting of Independence Park but, personally, I'm more proud of this one.
